Webinar: Leveraging Tech in Human-Centered Work: How AI-Powered Tools Can Be Used in Social Work to Address Issues of Access and Equity
Webinar Description: This webinar will provide participants with an opportunity to discover how AI-powered tools can complement the work of school-based social workers. The webinar will open by engaging participants in a brief, evidence-based digital intervention focused on intention/goal setting. From there, the Executive Director of Student Services for Cumberland County Schools in Fayetteville, NC, will provide an overview of her district’s eco-system of student and family support programs and services. She will share how technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), has enabled her district’s social workers to provide personalized support for every student. Next, the presenters will guide participants in an examination of research related to the use of AI chatbots for mental health support, in particular the role technology can play in addressing ongoing issues of equity, access, and cultural relevance. In the final segment, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on how ideas shared in the session can be applied in their own community.
