Dr. Maryam Gibson is a Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of dedicated experience spanning child welfare, public education, and the mental health field. For the past 16 years, she has served as a school-based clinical social worker in the Special Education Department of Prince George's County Public Schools.
Throughout her career, Dr. Gibson has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving historically marginalized, underserved, and vulnerable populations. Her extensive frontline experience includes providing intensive mobile outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness and co-occurring disorders, as well as delivering specialized therapy to medically fragile families. In her current role, she tirelessly advocates for high school students and their families, navigating complex educational systems to ensure each student receives the tailored support needed to succeed.
