Thursday, April 30, 2026 (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

The School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) invites State Affiliate Leaders to participate in the first session of our National Advocacy Roundtable Series. This collaborative leadership forum is designed to strengthen state-level advocacy infrastructure, increase engagement in legislative efforts, and support emerging states in building sustainable systems for policy influence. During this session, established and highly engaged state affiliates will share real strategies and lessons learned in developing effective advocacy structures. Emerging and developing states will have the opportunity to gain practical guidance, motivation, and actionable steps to strengthen advocacy efforts within their own regions.

Participants will engage in structured discussion focused on:

 • Developing sustainable advocacy leadership structures

 • Mapping legislative relationships and policy engagement strategies

 • Strengthening member mobilization and participation

• Identifying common advocacy challenges across states

• Building national alignment in messaging and strategy

This session will serve as both a learning space and a leadership activation opportunity, reinforcing SSWAA’s commitment to strengthening the collective voice of school social workers nationwide.
