National School Social Work Certification - July 2026 Cohort

Apply* to become a National Certified School Social Worker!
- NCSSW is a self-paced (asynchronous), virtual portfolio process that operates in a Cohort model.
- Register for NCSSW anytime during the registration window for the upcoming Cohort.
- Upon approval of your application, you will receive an email with instructions about accessing SSWAAed (SSWAA's online learning management system) along with an invoice. Payment must be made in full prior to gaining access to certification course content in SSWAAed.
- Candidates have one year (from Cohort start date) to complete the process.
- Because National Certification is an ongoing, self-paced process, refunds are not available.
- Certification is valid for three years, at which time the certified SSW must become re-certified (see 'NCSSW Re-certification' for more information).

*Eligibility requirements include:
- Earned MSW
- Completed at least four full years post-MSW as a school social worker^ or school social work educator in higher education (^or equivalent position in districts/states with alternative school social work regulations/credentialing)
- Hold current/active licensure or certification for school social work position per state guidelines
- Have active SSWAA membership at the Full or Premiere level

This is the registration for NCSSW Cohort July 2026. Applications are accepted and reviewed April 1 through June 24, 2026. Payment invoice is sent upon program acceptance; payment due by June 30, 2026. Course materials become available in SSWAAed to approved applicants beginning July 1, 2026. Candidates have one year (until June 30, 2027) to complete the process and become certified.
