Tips for School Social Workers on Supporting LGBTQ Students in E-Learning Environments

Thursday, December 10, 2020 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EST)

Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has required most schools to implement distance learning, which has created unintended consequences for LGBTQ students. With the loss of social connection, essential support systems provided by schools, and potentially living with unsupportive parents/guardians, LGBTQ youth are facing new and unique challenges. This webinar will provide school social workers with knowledge of the impacts of the pandemic on LGBTQ youth, the unique barriers and needs of LGBTQ youth, and how to provide culturally responsive services to LGBTQ youth in virtual environments.

Please note that CEUs are given for LIVE attendance at the webinar event.  SSWAA is working to make fall webinars available to watch at a later date - more information and registration to watch recorded content will be coming.  *Refunds are not offered for webinar events and registration closes at 5:00pm Eastern the day prior to the event to ensure a smooth event.
